I can’t even begin to express how WONDERFUL and how thankful I am that I had the opportunity to attend a workshop by Jasmine Star. She is INCREDIBLE! Two weeks ago, immediately after I got home from our unexpected trip to Montana, I packed my things and headed to Dallas. It was something that I honestly didn’t think I was going to be able to attend, I hated the thought to have to cancel but I knew if it didn’t work out due to the passing of my sister in-law that was just the way it needed to be. My husband knew how important it was to me and said “NO you ARE going, you have worked so hard to get to this point.” Which was incredibly nice and just another reason why I love him dearly. Thanks honey!!
We started the workshop off with a mixer at a local photographers studio, it was amazing! I would give anything to have something so pretty. It was in the middle of Uptown Dallas. He mainly photographs weddings so he was inspiration for sure. Jasmine and JD (Her husband and second shooter) showed up, we drank wine, told our stories, chatted about business and our personal lives. It was so much fun and hey I had a reason to actually get dressed up for once 😉
The following morning was THE WORKSHOP. It was held at the Rosewood Crescent Hotel in Dallas and it honestly was the nicest hotel I have ever been to. The architecture, the details, the restaurants and the service. I walked into my hotel room and knew this was exactly what I needed to relax and just take a deep breath. A lot has gone on in the past few months, it is the middle of CRAZY wedding season and I was feeling a bit… well… OVERWHELMED. I was completely emotionally exhausted and going to Dallas was something I will be thankful for forever. Jasmine did something to get my mind back on track and feel more refreshed. THANK YOU JASMINE!!!!
After an incredible day of discussing branding, business and having the chance to shoot a gorgeous couple and watch Jasmine shoot (who are actually getting married this weekend) we headed to dinner. I can honestly say I left Dallas with a few more friends and a community of photographers. It was exactly what I needed and can’t imagine if I had missed it. My husband knew I needed it, he probably had no idea why but THANK YOU.
I took the shooting time to not take a ton of photos but to really watch and learn from Jasmine as she shot. I got a handful of shots I am really proud of, check them out below. The brides dress was AMAZING!!!!! A big thanks to all the wonderful vendors who helped put the workshop together, it wouldn’t of happened without you all.
